You understand and abide by our Materials Ownership Policy, which explains that project materials received through DonorsChoose should stay in the classroom for which they were purchased, unless the project essay clearly states that materials are for student use or ownership outside of the classroom.

Can student teachers use DonorsChoose?
Yes. As long as your school is a charter school or a Head Start center, your school is eligible. My school is a non-profit, independent, or private school that accepts public school students through referrals, partnerships, or a ”choice school” program with the public school district.

DonorsChoose does not specify a dollar limit for projects, and some ambitious projects have been funded. That said, the less a project costs, the more likely it is to be funded.
Can you fund your own DonorsChoose project?
You can donate dollars into your own account without having to pick projects first. You can keep this balance in your account, and use it to fund projects over the next 12 months. These are called Account Credits.
