Does short fingers affect guitar playing?
This is a question we get asked a lot. I’ve taught dozens of people with small hands and they tend to be very aware and conscious of their hand size and it worries them. Relax, there is no such thing as having ‘too small’ hands to play guitar. Everyone can learn to play the guitar.
Can you be good at guitar with short fingers?
If you have small hands, you’re in good company. Guitarists such as Angus Young, Prince, Nancy Wilson, and Paul Simon are small-statured people with small hands yet they’re still great players. Even Stevie Ray Vaughan, who was only 5’5”, had only average-sized hands. I could name others, but you get the point.
