A new pack has a two-year shelf life in its original packaging. If you bought an individual Boveda pack, it is sealed inside a clear protective overwrap. Don’t remove the overwrap until you’re ready to use each Boveda.

As the humidity in a Boveda pack is depleted, the pack firms up. Boveda packs progressively reveal a beady texture before the edges stiffen up. The center of the pouch loses its cushion and feels more like cardboard. Simply discard stiff Boveda packs and replace them with fresh pouches.
How do I reactivate my Boveda pack?
Place the wrapped pack into a Ziploc baggie, but before sealing the baggie, push as much air out as you can. Seal it. Let sit at room temp for 2-3 days, again check it daily. Once the paper towel is completely dry, the pack is ready to go back into service!

So if your Boveda 84% RH are “still squishy” after using them for seasoning for 14 days, that’s normal. The Boveda have done their job. Thank them, then remove them from your humidor and dispose of the seasoning packs. You cannot use them again.
