Are XQD cards being discontinued?
In addition to Sony, as of August 2018, Nikon and Delkin are also manufacturing XQD cards. In late 2018, Lexar – by then under new ownership – announced that it would discontinue support for the XQD format in favour of CFexpress, citing problems with control, licensing and product availability.
What is difference between XQD and CFexpress?
The reason is simply that CFexpress offers vastly superior speeds over current-generation media, such as XQD or SD. Can I use XQD in CFexpress slot?
CFExpress is a card format that is physically the same size as XQD, and pin for pin compatible with XQD. Any device that uses XQD should be able to theoretically use CFExpress with a firmware update.

No, at least not in the moment. XQD cards use a high bandwidth PCIe bus (literally the same used for graphics cards in a PC or high performance SSDs) for connecting the memory to the Camera while SD cards use their own interface which initially was derived from the slow SPI bus.
