They are required to make the ultimate sacrifice in order to protect our freedom. Even in times where the world is stable, they are on call to drop everything and die in the line of duty. While society claims support, the truth is that, outside of their immediate family, many remain out of sight, and therefore out of mind. There are even instances where the political stance behind their service stains what is otherwise a heroic act of unconscionable courage.
They Make The Ultimate Sacrifice
Just So We Can Live Safely And Freely
Thankfully, we live in a time where more and more focus finds itself on those who serve and protect.
Social media is alive with videos of returning military men and women surprising their shocked and grateful families, while leaders remain loyal to the concept of support. So has the artistic community. Even those who disagree with where and why they are employed still come back to the position that our soldiers are sacred – and anytime they can let that be known, they will.
We Should Always Salute And Support Them
Take Kid Rock, for example. In an exceptional collaboration with the band The Trews, the rock-rapper turns the tune “Highway of Heroes” into a stirring tribute to those who have laid down their lives for this country. The song came out in December of last year, but as Rock said (via his Facebook page), “We don’t have to wait for a holiday to thank our service men and women. Take a moment to thank a veteran or service member today.”
